 Graphic Design

My graphic design realted work is created using a blend of various programs. These primarily include Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Often, a project requires the introduction of elements from external sources, such as 3D objects, digitized physical prints, and other experimental mediums. I aim to push boundaries in my designs while maintaining industry standards.

Conceptual Concert Poster

This piece was created using a mixture of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. The copy features the Futura PT font family with Good Times to accent the year. A handwritten signature of the artist was vectorized in Illustrator to enhance a humanistic feel. Using a grid-based approach, the work is reminiscent of an early 2000’s aesthetic fused with current design trends.

Hyundai N Vision 74 Magazine Page

The introduction of this car inspired me to create a hypothetical magazine page in my personal visual style. The vehicle is a great representation of retro-futurism in the technology sphere; my aim was to convey this graphically. I approached the Swiss design style in a minimalistic way to hearken back to retro design while maintaining a connection to contemporary design structures. Futura PT provided the sans serif solution to the bodycopy provided by Andy Kalmowitz of Jalopnik.

Moth Meat Market

I was given the task to create the branding for a restaurant related to an animal. I created a modern minimalist design system with influence from gothic archetecture and blackletter font types for this restaurant. The logo was created to look abstract, but is actually a vectorized version of a spot on a leopard moth. This project’s final outputs were a logo, mockups, and a brandboard.

TXL Airport Poster

I designed a conceptual poster for Berlin-Tegel Airport. The abbreviation “TXL” is the IATA (international airport code) for this location and is used in this work as a logo. The boeing 707 often flew in and out of this airport. It was produced until the 1970’s and it’s fitting for this Bauhaus inspired design. The implied movement of the piece directly correlates to the funcionality and appeal of the airport.

Gossip Film Poster

This poster was created to advertise a screening of student films at Colorado State University. I was tasked with creating an engaging black and white poster that incorporated some form of distorted text and the photo of Kermit. I wanted the poster to stand out but still remain legible and convey the information as efficiently as possible. The floating box that contains the artist’s names is a suble way that I was able to differentiate this work from the standard rectangle format of the average poster.

Opioid Outreach Posters

A set of 3 posters were developed in unison to meet the outreach goals of clients. They were looking to get people to sign a petition related to holding pharmaceutical companies accountable for their role in the opioid crisis, as well as getting engagment in legalizing safe use sites and changing current drug policy. The posters are meant to be eye catching enough to get viewers to scan the QR codes and engage with their cause. Bright colors, heavy fonts, and related imagery were used to build a visual identity that remains dynamic in design.
