Physical art is something that consitently inspires my practices. I have created numerous drawings and paintings, and have explored mediums like 3D printing, woodworking, porcelain, and fibers.

Wooden Sculpture

The images with a background are a 3D render of a real physical sculpture I made, shown in the image the pure white background. A sheet of spruce plywood was cut and sanded to express an abstract organic form. It stands 20 inches tall and 3 feet wide. In Blender, I modelled and textured each component individually and arranged them in a way that is entirely accurate to its physical counterpart.

Dual Vase

This is a 3D render of a vase I created physically. The vase started out as a 3D model in Rhinocerous 7. The file was exported to a CNC machine that cut the shape out of 2 plaster blocks I poured. After they were assembled together, I poured porcelain into the mold to slipcast the vase. It was then sanded, coated in enamel, and fired. I then recreated the form in Blender, resulting in these images as an output. The vase that exists in the physical world is pictured in the final image.

Self-Portrait

I painted a self-portrait on canvas with acrylics. I emphasize figure over scene, with a focus on the mask. It was made using fur strips woven into a sheet of fabric on a loom, then cut and sewn into the wearable mask. This specific mask also features in my film Memoir of a Ghost, viewable in my Photography page. The painting has been digitized in the 3D realm using Blender. It was framed and placed in various settings to allow its context to expand the work.
